Brusch is perhaps the most powerful Angel permanently assigned to Boston, both in authority and in sheer ability. What makes most Bostonian Angels (and the transient population) uncomfortable is Brusch's duty -- he is a Servitor of Judgment, assigned both to outpost duty and coordinating Dominic's Northeast Corporeal Operations.

Brusch is an old angel, remembering the Fall. In the days after the Fall, he came close to joining his damned brethren, only to have Dominic's example and concern lift him back to the light. He served loyally since then, including many centuries of Triad duty. He has shown little interest in seeking a Word, being far more focused on the crusade.

The last several years, he has been assigned to Boston in an operations capacity, partly as something of a sabbatical from duty as a Judge. He has assumed his duties with customary efficiency, clearly enjoying the change of pace. As there are no Boston Judgment Tethers, he also acts rather like a Seneschal might, with different techniques of requesting aid when needed. His Role gives him good autonomy in a business sense, while letting him scan insurance claims and records for questionable activity. He is also in a good position to facilitate the creation of Roles, though usually a Mercurian "secretary" assigned to him actually does the work -- it treading too close to deception for Brusch's liking. He appears thirty-five years old or so, blond, with a tight, wiry build. While Brusch plays his Role well, his immediate supervisor and two peers at Prudential are Soldiers of Judgment who serve him, allowing him the autonomy to do his real work within his Role's constraints.

With the Angels of the Boston area, Brusch -- or Bruce -- acts as something of a confessor. He never conceals his function as a Judgment Angel, of course, and he gives regular reports on Angelic activities and indiscretions. However, while he is strict in keeping an eye on the city, he is also utterly fair -- a fairness cleves too strongly and publically. Therefore, he has managed to achieve balance with his environment. They may not be happy he's there, but at least he doesn't offend too strongly.

He never mentions how easily he keeps his balance, since any actual investigations are done by Triads he calls in, not he himself. As for companionship, he generally contents himself with his secretary servant. Almost perversely, Trudiel, the Creationer Malakite in Service to War, seems to have "adopted" him as a friend, spending a good amount of time with him. After adapting to her presence, Brusch found advantages to the relationship -- she is a powerful Malakite, and since she needs to be monitored regardless, it's easier to do it with her cooperation. He also finds her somewhat unorthodox perspective refreshing.

There is a rumor that Dominic is trying to establish a Boston tether, somewhere in the area. If true, Brusch would be the coordinator of the project. It's also thought Brusch would be offered the Seneschalship, though he's avoided Word-tracks in the past.
